Individuals were unaware of the study-group assignments. Participants were seen every 4 weeks. At each visit, fasting blood samples were acquired to measure gonadal steroid amounts, and questionnaires were administered to assess physical function, health position, vitality, and sexual function. At baseline and week 16, surplus fat and lean mass had been assessed through dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry ; subcutaneous – and intraabdominal-extra fat areas and thigh-muscle region were measured by way of computed tomography ; and lower-extremity strength was dependant on method of a leg press. Data on bone homeostasis , risk factors for coronary disease , and levels of leptin and prostate-particular antigen were collected but aren’t included in the present report also.
